Smart Home

Control. Home. Comfort.

Overview

Enjoy your Home

The concept of the smart home app revolves around the ability to efficiently and easily control home management and remotely control the smart devices within one's living space. It allows users to control the devices intentionally and with convenience.

I came up with the idea of installing a smart home appliance in the new apartment. After a few uses, we encountered numerous problems. Through collaboration with the team and conducting research, I have found a solution for convenient daily use.

Goals

Better for them

The purpose of the app is to be intuitive for busy people.
Deliberate control, management and operation of the devices remotely and save time.

Personas

They are the important part

Based off of 5 informal interviews conducted with my friend and family members, I created two personas based off common user goals and pain points

Ronit ,39 married medd Technological
GOALS

1) Practical - easy to operate.
2) Efficiency - saving time.
3)  Available anywhere, anytime.
4) Ability to run from anywhere.

PAIN POINTS

- The connection itself is complicated.
- Limited to the number of people.
- After disconnecting the connection is complicated.
- She does not have much time.

GOALS

1) Turn on the devices quickly.
2) Convenience - operate from anywhere.
3) Efficiency - concentration of applications.
4) Troubleshooting- Locate faults easily.
5)  Secure house.
6) Saving time.

PAIN POINTS

- Not usable that there is a power outage.
- Complicated login-Sometimes forgets the password.
- The speed of the app depends on the web package.
- Sometimes forgets to turn off devices.

User Flow

Choreography of the user experience

I wanted users to be able to complete their goals with the least number of screens possible.
The task in Smart Home was to activate a device within the app, so that I could visualize the user experience and see what the necessary screens were.

Sketches

Create idea on the board

My goal when I started sketching was to come up with ideas on how I could make the design intuitive. I did not want users to have to play with the app for too long before they could understand how it works. I was inspired by smart home apps since many users are familiar with them, and I made the usage very similar within the Smart Home app.

Wireframe

Low-Fidelity Wireframing

I used my sketches to guide me through the part of the network connection of my design process.
The main solution from my low wireframe was to consider how I could integrate a better way for users to find the device they need in some ways.

Prototype

High-Fidelity Prototype

I built the high-fidelity prototype using Figma. I wanted the visual design to be bold and energizing to truly embody the vibe of seizing the day. I chose orange as the main brand color and a professional serif font, Roboto.

Since the main purpose for the user is to activate a device, I wanted them to be able to do so from several areas in the app. As a result, the device operation capability can be performed through the home screen, the product page, and within the product itself.
